CMS or Forum? Integrating vBulletin with existing site
Posted by: | CommentsHello,
We have an existing site with hard-coded html content.
Would like to enable the visitors to add content. Original idea was to add vBulletin Forum, but wondering if the full Publishing version (CMS + Forum) makes sense.
If you have experience with integrating the CMS with an existing html site, would like to know:
1) Did content have to be re-entered through the CMS interface, or is there some other way to port it over?
2) Were you able to maintain the same menu / sub-menu structure of the existing site?
3) Any issues encountered?
Thanks and Regards,
HiFlyer

I would like some advice before buying…
Posted by: | CommentsI'm looking into buying a vbulletin forum, but I have some questions for anyone experienced with vbulletin:
-Which Version should I consider purchasing?
-Do you need a place to host with vbulletin?
- If so, where would the best place to host be?
Thanks to anyone who answers!

looking for some insider advise
Posted by: | CommentsI want to start a web based forum, and have spent a lot of time on other vb based forum sites.
I find the layout easy to follow, but i am concerned that using vb to build and run my site
is going to be too advanced for me.
Anyone here had similar concerns, what are your thoughts now?
Thanks....mm

Life Expectancy, and users thoughts?
Posted by: | CommentsI have vb 3.7.something licenses and recently some members of my old forums expressed a desire to get them kicking again.
Now I show up to look at renewal costs and experienced sticker shock. After gaining understanding of how the new licenses work, I may not be SO upset depending on how long this new sticker actually covers. For the life of the 4.0 product, ok, so how long is the life expectancy of the 4.0 product? Should I expect to cough up that much money every year? Or is it going to even out in the long run? Does that mean anything that starts with 4, or am I out the second it jumps to 4.1?
I'll high tail it out of here if the average cost for a forum that makes me literally no money is going to triple.
Also, I saw some pretty negative feedback about the software. Is this a few random issues, or a perpetual issue that is not being resolved?
I have loved vb, and now I'm very, very hesitant to put my money in to it again.
From VB I'd like an idea how far my money is going to carry me, from the users I'd really like your honest opinion if this is a worthy investment of said money.
Thanks in advance!
